As we get older 

Our lives may get smaller

With losses, unexpected

With capabilities that fade.

Yet, this is just the moment 

When our usefulness grows

Life lessons most valuable 

For others who need our help.

Your Purpose for us remains

In every person we touch.  

Are we pushing them away

Or bringing them closer to You?

For today, I will focus 

Not on my regrets or complaints 

Instead, I will look for others to 

Encourage, inspire, and hold.

For the best way to expand

Our lives is to connect with another 

By being available and present
