What the world needs now

Is in such short supply

Today, we’d rather be right

And let harsh words fly.

When the other we cannot see

Hardened in our corners

Seeking total victory.

There’s only one clear winner

Dividing our nation so

Those who profit the most from

Keeping our anger all aglow.

We must remember

Avoiding to take the bait

We have more in common

Than sowers of division and hate.

When we gather around the table

Refraining from words spoken in Haste

We are but one family, one people

All precious to the One who gives eternal
